Anyone know why there are arrows stamped on the gears inside of a 22RE oil pump? Do they line up with something or what?

they do, but its not really important, it doesnt HAVE to be "timed"

I just made them look pretty and put it on already. What are they for and what do they line up with, just for future reference?
