Turbo Rear Axle?
« on: Apr 07, 2007, 01:11:22 PM »
Ok, here's the ?  The axle in the turbo, is it the same axle that comes in the v6 trucks, or is it just a beefed up slightly larger 4 cyl axle?  So, when I order parts for it, i.e. locker, gears, seals & etc. do I look for turbo axle or v6 axle?  Just want to be 100% clear on this!
Just because there are listings for turbo, 4 and 6 cyl models, in some areas!  There is some areas that is kinda fuzzy on the turbo models for information on what's for one and not the other, and what will fit both!

Thank you!

This is the same answer I get.  It's a not 100% sure answer!  But I'm 90% sure!  It's like I own a half breed!  I just don't want to order parts and have things not fit and have to pay for return shipping and a re-stocking fee on top of it!

It's bad enough that I've spendt the last 4 months looking for any info on what is needed to swap from a turbo to  22re, and I finally got ahold of White Trash on another website, said it's easier than every thinks!  Just need a 22re and the ecm.

FYI~ white trash just got married!

I have a turbo 3rd in my 4runner. Most were the same as the v6, I have seen one that was supposedly original that was a 2 pinion. I have my doubts as to whether it was truly the original chunk though.

There is no difference between the V6 and Turbo.

the v6 is the same as the turbo
