carb trouble need help please!!!!!!!!!
« on: Jan 18, 2007, 03:27:48 PM »
my neighbor down the road just bought a first gen and the preavios owner had loaded the truck up with most of north west off roads cattalog. so after removing 12 shocks, one extra steering stabilizer and the sway bars. he has gotten only one trip out before the massive carb took a crap.

i havent ever seen a gaint 4 barrel weber on a 20r before so i have no clue as how to fix it. it also has a holley four barrel intake dought it helps. has any one ever had experiance with these before? we want to take it off and put some thing smaller on there. it is poffin black smoke like crazy so we think the carb is just to big. any suggestions on how to fix?

:yikes:  HOLY COW  a 4 barrel on a 20R   yea  i can imagine  black as  coal

i need  more carb  but not that dang much

you need to find a regular 20R manifold  and then put a stock 22R  carb on it,  thats  more than enough to give the 20R  a good kick

Go to an auto parts store and buy the caps for vaccuum line ports, plug off everything except vaccuum advance on carb, brake booster and pcv valve.

Then have him send me that 4 barrel and intake :yesnod:  :psss: are you sure it's not a holley 390 4 barrel?
