We're beginning to make reservations for our club trip to Silverton, Colorado next summer. Dates are July 28 (Sat.) through Aug. 4trh (Sat.) 2007. For those of us with RVs, we're staying at Silver Summit RV Park, Tele: 1-800-352-1637 (silversummitrvpark.com) which is only 2 blocks from historic downtown Silverton, and adjacent to the narrow gauge Duango & Silverton Railway station. For those without motorhomes, there are a number of wonderful Bed & Breakfast inns and motels to choose from in the area. The beautiful scenery, spectacular mountain passes and trails, old ghost towns and abandond mines around Silverton and the San Juan Mountains are something not to be missed! A few of have already made reservations, and at present there are still plenty of openings-However they fill up fast and suggest reservations be made early if you're thinking of coming!
