suspension question
« on: Jan 20, 2004, 09:08:14 PM »
greetings :).  I've got an 80 4x4 longbed that I want to raise up.  I don't mind spending a litlte extra as long as it is worth it.  The suspension is stock, except for a homemade 1.5" shackle lift.  I was thinking about getting a 4-5" suspension lift to fit Super Swamper LTB 34-10.50s --- or should I go with the 35s?  Has anyone tried out the LTB's?  Any experienced advice is welcomed.  Thanks.  Also, because there are so many suspension kits out there, it would be great if you could give specifics.

a set of 5" lift allpro' s go for about 500$ (4)  good soft flexy springs, will sag some.  from personal experience stay away from procomp springs & downeyoffroad springs (junk!)
all i want is a little more than i'll ever get!!

the LTB's are good all around tires, and buddy of myne has them on his yota, he runs a 81 toyota truck with 20r 5.29's duel transfercase's, 3 inch superlift suspenson lift, and 33/13/15 super swamper LTB's and that truck will go anywhere u point it they hook up and go.
has had good luck with them no flats or cuts so far and they are about a 8 months too a year old.
still look new.
If you didn't make it, and it ain't broke, you didn't try hard enough.

I have had nothing but good luck with downey springs..I have beat the piss out of the old ones I had..Good ride, good flex and seem to be with in budget range..I used my old downey springs to aide in the build up of my front hybrid packs and I am very happy with the out come..I don't think allpor rear springs are that great..I have seen them flex and on a truck I think a better pack can be built and for alot less money..The allpro pack seems to do pretty good on a 4runner though..The added weight makes a big difference I think..A truck with flatbed and some gear just does not have enough weight to make them work I think..As for the rear I have seen ranger, mazda and 89-95 toy rear springs do the best on lighter weight trucks.. :twocents:
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!
