Just curious, why would you want them removable?  :dunno:  the stronger and more permanent the attachment point, the better off you are.

I was just thinking that. I was running through why I would want to ever remove rock sliders and couldn't come up with one reason. I can see wanting to take the stockers off, but that's it.

just buy a piece of plate steel drill 4 holes in it and weld them to your sliders then they are removable

i would like bolt on because i can't weld....simple as that. thats the main reason i didn't go high steer yet. maybe i should just wait until i find someone with welding skills.

There has to be 80 people near you on this board that could help you out with a little weldin.  I'd do it, but I am a leetle far away.

Still think you are better off welding them on   Post up that you need someone to help you weld something, I'm sure there's someone in your area.

I've been thinking about this for quite a while too.  Wouldn't be hard to just make it bolt to the bed mounts, then weld on whatever other mounts you need for more strength.

ok suggestions. I would just do it right and save yerself some $$$.  One company mentioned sells them for 135$ w/shipping. I know they're hot-rolled but still. If you can't weld I'm sure you can find a local competent welder to throw 'em on for $100. I don't think the Four Real sliders are made for Toys.  :dunno:  I do like the fact that the Bentup rockers have the "U" plate that wraps around the frame for the bolt-on version. Weld those suckers on and they ain't goin' nowhere!   :flamer:

Theres a guy on TTORA that makes some pretty good engineering-type arguments as to why bolt-on is superior to weld-on. I believe Roger Brown also discusses it on his site. Something about stress being applied more evenly on the frame or something, in addition to removeability.
