« on: Mar 08, 2006, 11:19:49 PM »
ok here is the deal i got a lockright in the front of my 82 with 529sand a welded rear 36"irocs.iv got 3 trips to hollister on the locker, the 1st and 2nd trip no noise comin from the front end and a broken birf both times.then this last trip i locked the hubs and it started poppin and clackin and it sounded like it was racheting .at the end of the weekend no broken birf and i was just hammering the :pokinit: out of my truck all weekend.so i assume the locker finaly started workin right (unlocking) but the other day  at a local spot it was doin its thing and then it got quite and then i couildnt turn when the hubs are locked(not broken birf 4 sure).what do u guys think? broken pins? and where can i get pins or a rebuild kit whatever i need to fix it???

SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY BUDDY. IT WAS THE PINS THAT BENT AND BROKE. WE HAD TO REPLACE IT. THE GEARS GOT ROUNDED AND SOME BROKE ON BOTH SIDES. IT WAS A PAIN IN THE   :moon:   TO GET IT OUT. I THINK WE HAD TO CUT SOME OF IT TO GET IT TO FINALLY DROP OUT. GOOD LUCK

Good luck hope it goes well. Are you running stock birfs? Sound like you need some longfields. :muscles:

today i took the front end apart and the locker looked fine. but some thing wasnt right with my long side birf. it doesnt rotate freely so i took it apart and the 2 pieces that hold the bearings we binding  but just looking at the birf it looked fine so i guess i just tweeked every thing in the birf.
