Can Marlin front leafs be installed useing the stock front hangers
and since there longer than stock springs use a longer shackle and

i think  yes,   you can put them in the stock hangers,  but  if your use there front hanger  you will move the wheels 1.5 inches forward,  but you have to change to histeer if you do,  but yes  and yes to your ??

right,  i am almost positive the front springs will bolt right in to a 1st gen truck,  with longer rear shackles so they sit \

i checked

yes  the marlin front springs will mount in a 1st gen  and move them maybe 3/8 inch forward,  not enough to require changing from your stock steering to hysteer,  but i think the hysteer is best

but you will need longer shackles  to allow for the 1.5 inch longer rear section

If you are going to go in that direction you should look into getting a special shackle that allows you to run longer springs. If I were you I would get a new hanger but if you look at some of the guys who are running rears in the front you should be able to get a good look at those (Banana) shackles as they're called.

Thanks for the info I was thinkin about going with Marlins cause my lift now
the main leaf is from a not so Pro Comp 4" lift that I picked up and ended up
tearing apart and adding some stock springs to get a decent ride out of and
got another inch with some 5" shackles don't seem to be getting enough droop
out of them. A friend of mine has got Marlins on the same truck as mine
they work really well. Now should go with 4" and shackles long enough to
gain an inch of lift or go with 5" and shackles long enough to accommodate
only the longer spring length? :headscratch:

go with the 5 incher's   that way  your pinion angle  isnt messed with long shackles,  as shackle lift in the front pushes the pinion down

I never thought of that. Longer shackles in the front make for a vibrating drive line.
