I don't know from experience, but if I were to upgrade to a 36 I would go with the Irock.I have heard nothing but good about them.

If you don't mind the price diff between the irocs and the M/T Baja claws mine did a dam!!! good job this weekend up on outer limits. The 37  13.5 really only measures up to a 36. Both tires are a great choices, but the claws handle really nice on the road also fare better then any swamper I've ran in the past   :turtle:   CJ

The only (and I mean only) thing that I don't like about the IROK is it has scooped lugs like a Bogger. Here in Mo. Ks. Ok. there are a lot of sharp rocks. They like to chunk a little bit. But, then again, that scooped lug design is pretty good for getting a bite in mud. Not to mention the rocks. All around great tire. And the road manners aren't bad either. But nothing I drive is really streetable. So I don't have a lot of miles on them.  IMO, the IROK is pretty much the best bang for the buck.

38x12.5 tsl's.  They measure a true 36.5" tall and thats what you stated you max at.  They are my favorite size for normal trail running.  I ran them on 7", 8" and 10" wheels and they were the best on 8's.

I think it totally depends on where you live/wheel . What works good for someone in one type of terrain might totally suck in your area. Ask people who wheel in your area. Good luck

I run mainly Arizona trails....in all conditions from snow to mud so I would like a more aggressive tire than an MTR. Right now my 35" X-terrains are almost worn out and I would like to move up to a 36" tire but nothing larger as I want to keep my truck as low as possible but the 35s seem alittle on the short side for my liking. I dont want a REALLY heavy tire either...
I've got a spool in the rear and I drive my truck to all the trails so the tires have to be at least decent on the road...no boggers.
Any recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated...I was lookin at Iroks and SXs in the 36" variety..no wider than a 13.5 tire
dont want too soft of a tread compound that will wear extremely fast either...I may be expecting too much but there has to be something out there that you guys like that fits the bill for the most part...X-terrains have been good but on the short side...as are all other 35" tires that are more like 34.5s...give me a TRUE 36!! i really like the new Maxxis Creepy Crawlers
probably go with a radial tire also since its lighter and i dont need the extreme toughness of the bias ply swampers
