I'm trying to dual case my 85 but don't know what I need
« on: Nov 12, 2014, 11:30:50 AM »
I'm just lost on what to buy and what kind of core I need, I'm sure I can get a core for cheap but want to figure out what it's gonna cost me so I can start saving. Thanks ahead of time for any help

OK here goes, what you will need:

1.   Top shift transfer case (front case can be a forward shift t-case)
2.   Dual case adapter  (if you get the non rotated from Marlin, will need to trim shift rails some)
3.   New dual case crossmember
4.   Extended speedo cable
5.   Rear driveline shortened and CV joint installed at t-case output, and front lengthened
6.   (optional) Twin sticks
6a.  If you don't have bucket seats, cut extra holes in trans tunnel, or want to get rid of your bench, http://www.radesignsproducts.com/Triple_Sticks.html

dont forget to get 2 new stock tcase mounts or better yet one HD one and a stock one. also after your done chaining  the motor mounts isnt a bad idea, dual cases will kill the stock ones quick, one new stock one and HD one will be plenty

the output flange on the rear tcase will need to be changed out for the bigger one that fits a CV pattern, or just get a MC triple drilled flange.
