Lately all iv done is wheel the truck whenever I'm home on the weekends and its been getting progressively worse running and I haven't done any maintenance in a long time. I got home and fired it up to find a fairly bad miss and found a few things wrong and decided to do a general tuneup and run a compression test. I was surprised to find all the cylinders between 155 and 165 but I'm burning a lot of oil so it pretty much points to valve seals... so I'm probly gonna order up engine builders top end gasket kit and do a valve job after the first of the year.

Also made a deal to get new 5.29s front and rear fairly soon so hopefully progress soon.

ill throw up a pic in the morning of what I pulled outta there. or what was left of the bell, but i somehow managed to blow up the hub gear, twist that axle off and destroy the bell part of the birf all in one go...

heres the end of the shaft and part of the hub still attached

got bored and went back to the shop tonight for the pics...

3rd pic you can see whats left of the birf and the rest of the crap i pulled out of the knuckle and the last pic you can see the hub dial in all its glory

truck will probably be down for awhile since i still dont have rear gears, i wanna put on the ifs hubs while i have front axle torn down and i really need to rebuild my knuckles... getting pretty tired of leaking milky gear oil out of the hubs anytime i pull the dial...  also need to get some wedges to rotate my axle back a little put on longer shackles and wire up the elocker so i can go back to an open front diff until I can afford to buy a locker or get hydro assist...

well i just got the truck up to my apt in oregon now but i have some seriously bad death wobble and i really cant figure it out. it only happens while in town and i cant really seem to figure out what triggers it. freeway is fine though, no problems at all. just a crazy out of control back and forth around 30 sometimes... ideas? :dunno:

5.29s blow my mind.

Got diffs setup and then installed last night. Put about 30 miles on em so far to start breakin procedure and gonna start DD'ing as mich as possible. Still not 4x4 again yet but I did get the hud dial and parts I need minus the inner gear, but its on order along with some steel braided lines. Really looking forward to not worrying about super sketchy brake lines popping at any time. Hopefully shooting for a rubicon trip before the end of the year but time off and money may be an issue
