with a heavy heart I ask
« on: Apr 27, 2012, 09:12:46 AM »
Some of you already know but for the rest of you that don't know my Mom passed away 4-20-2012  :(

We knew Mom had a burial policy that covered her entire funeral up to $10,000 but when we went to the funeral home this past Tuesday they told us her policy was only valid in the state of Alabama  :o

She also has a life insurance plan from a company in Texas my Dad purchased in 1971 but when I called it in the company had gone out of business in 1985  :smack:          After further investigation I found that Reliable in St Louis had bought some of their policies but she wasn't in their computer so IF they had her policy it would be in hard copy "in the warehouse" and I had to write a letter and mail it to get them to go to the warehouse and actually look for it  :headshake:

In the mean time the funeral home refuses to even list her obituary until we have her $3400 bill paid.

So far I have $1450 borrowed and begged from local friends and neighbors so I must ask my Marlin family for help in any way you can.
If you wish (and I would actually prefer) you can call the funeral home and pledge any amount to mothers bill.   her funeral was to be 4-30-12 but because we hadnt paid them yet they moved her to 5-4-12

Her name is Margaret S. McDade  she died 4-20-2012

shes at Gross funeral home in HotSprings AR

$3400 - $1450 = $1950

This the first I've seen this thread. So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, Glen.  Glad to hear things have worked out for her and she can be at peace.  I do hope that is comforting to you and your family so you can all move forward in this life that we all still share together on this planet. :therethere: :)
