« on: Feb 06, 2005, 10:20:05 AM »
Ok Ihave a good chance at getting an 83 /84 f-250 4x4 super cheap with good running gear .
My question is could I use the front and rear could I swap it into my 86 runner .Is this a good idea or go with the front to make my 86 stronger .
I know nothing about fords  . Oh yeah its an auto f-250 lariat 4x4. Any comments welcome .

running gear is going to be mostly junk...from '80 to the mid 90s f150s and f250s(f350s until the mid 80s) had IFS

You sure that's not a F350? All F150/Bronco/F250 from 1980 thru 1998 had TTB IFS suspension in the front.

Maybe somebody has put a F250 cab or front clip on a F350 chassis or cab?

Or they swapped in a solid axle.

well i don't know what to say if its a straight axle front...F250s didn't have them from the 80s until the late 90s when they all became "super duty"

Swap the tubes ont he front axle if its a f350 and put that HP d60 into your rig that'd be sweet.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

sure it isn't TTB? Looks like straight axle but it pivots in the middle. If it is straight the the diff is on the wrong side, sell it to me ;)
