You need to learn to weld, and weld right before even considering this.

I agree with this.  Talk to someone in a local 4x4 club that has good fab skills and see if they can give you some hands on training, or think about a class at a local vo-tech school.  I'm sure you can pick it up fast, but learn at least the basics before tackling a project like this.
Tungsten isn't filler material!  Quit dippin' it!


Some people are like a slinky....not really good for anything, but they sure can make you smile when you shove them down the stairs!

Whats the best technique for welding 1/4 in upside-down with a miller 180 and .030? I suck at it.

turn the wire speed up slightly higher than normal for overhead

What wire are you using (Flux Core, Dual Shield, Solid Wire)?  And what shielding gas if any?

Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

You may also need to manipulate the puddle more than normal depending on you joint configuration.  You should be able to watch both you puddle and solidifying weld metal behind you to see how much build up you are getting.  Additionally, you should be "pushing" in the direction of travel if your not already.
