New setup for my tow rig
« on: Jan 12, 2007, 10:21:26 PM »
I've been screwing around with Galaxys and Cobras for a while and finally got fed up. I decided to get a BIG radio and have a nice setup for the Dodge that would suit me well on the long stretches of high way. Did a bunch or research and got an awesome setup. My radio just showed yesterday. It's a Connex General Washington that has been Super Whack Packed/Super received (not just turning a dial) with an Astatic 636L mic.

Antenna came last week. It's a Predator 10K. My ceilings are roughly 8' and this thing can't stand straight up.  :screwy:

Last part I'm waiting on is a Dave Made M-200. They are all custom made so lead time is 4-6 weeks. Hopefully see it in a couple of weeks. I'm super anxious to get the radio in and see what it's capable of. Unfortunately I have to go wheeling tomorrow so it will have to wait until next week. :hammer:

No I got this stuff from a guy who builds competion radio setups.  :headscratch: I didn't realize there was such a thing until I found him. Flash sells the same radio but my radio alone puts out roughly 40 watts on it's own. (most T&Ps are 15-22 watts) On just the radio when I was south of Fresno, I picked up a guy on ave 12. Found a guy with a big radio and from the same area, I got him up in Bass Lake. Flash helped dial my antenna. With the way this stuff is setup, you need a max of 1.3 SWR.
