I don't understand why we are celebrating a Mexican holiday, I see it as a reason to drink, nothing more. This aint Mexico spic! Go celebrate your holiday in your country. Just a heads up, the French revolution is July 14th, so save your fireworks
on the contrary I am Latin decent, but I will fly an American flag because that is who I am and where I live
BeccaLoo24 – i can toss grown men.... so dont doubt me
You answered your own question...it's a reason to drink (for those that do), same as St. Patrick's Day.As for hurling racial epithets...it does nothing to advance your point of view and in fact, by revealing yourself to be a monosyllabic mouth-breather, you chase an audience away...thus, there is no one around to convince that you have a valid point of view, much-less that you are worth listening to.
From my memory (its been a while since history class) Cinco de Mayo celebrates a single victory over the French in the early 1860s in a war that Mexico ultimately lost. From what I recall, many places in Mexico don't even celebrate it. I think most American Mexicans would agree it is nothing more than another holiday that gives everyone (black, white, yellow, brown, green, purple) an excuse to go out and party. Think St. Pattys day. You don't see Irish Americans up in a roar when people fly American flags on St. Pattys.
