Add a leaf question, 85 4runner
« on: Dec 28, 2009, 07:46:58 PM »
Does any one have any experience with aftermarket add a leafs. My 85 4runner has the typical rear end sag and would like to raise the rear 1" - 1.5". I am equipped with 31" tires and will probably remain that way for a bit longer till i can add a Marlin suspension set up.

I have researched add a leafs(summit racing has a nice selection) and have found short add a leafs, long add a leafs, etc. Which one will provide me with the lift desired and still provide the best ride? I dont carry much weight in the back other than the kids so added cargo is not a big consideration.

Instead of an add-a-leaf get shackles quicker and easier.

Make your own  ;)  The rear of my 91 2wd sagged when I bought it cause the po had a shell on it since 96, so I got a main leaf and cut off the eyes, cleaned up the edges so they wouldn't squeek and put them under the main leafs.  Fixed

Where do you buy the leaf spring center pins? I may just make my own if i can pick up a set of older leaf springs for a decent price.
