Twin cases... triples possible?
« on: May 10, 2009, 07:09:19 PM »
If two are good, won't three be better? Is this possible/plausible/useful? Just a thought, don't recall reading anything like it anywhere... but if there's no pictures I can't read it.  :disturbed:

Pics of chicks help a LOT too...  :eyebrow:

you have to buy two adapters when you can just get 4.7s and get one adapter, you will be just as low as triples. you'll have a really long front d-line and really short rear one. my  :twocents: just do duels with 4.7s
Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

Bigmike posted up a pic that the shop guys mounted 10 cases (?) together.  It was funny and overhung the shop table.  :rofl2:  Hey Barney could you shift the last two case for me while your back there.

Search for the guy that wanted to mate two trannies together!  :headscratch:  Never did see any pics.  :bull crap:

slightly off topic, but unbreakable did that long before that guy asked about it. Worked good from what I remember.

I wish Mike would put that video back up of Marlin's truck in L/L/L and fifth gear, and you couldn't see the truck move.  Unless you really looked at the tires.  Almost a waste of $.

I want to see L/L/L 1st gear! They also used to have a great video of the 4x4 test. Where they drove over a wood 4x4 and it showed how the gears went from drive to coast.

I remember when Marlin 1st ran triples pretty much said it's a waste and went back to duals. I even remember that you could still read the triple lettering on his truck under the dual lettering. Of course he has returned to triples I believe to showcase the product. A member of my club and I beat the snot out of everyone in the turtle races at HDR one year with the Marlin Ultimates by almost 12 minutes on the course. Triples would just be silly.

I kind of figured it would be a waste of time/effort... it was a fleeting thought; brought on by seeing a Lenco trans and learning how they work. Didn't think about the driveshafts being stretched/similar either. I sure don't think much...  :shake_head:  thanks for the responses though. I'm starting to sell off a few projects in hopes of having ONE to throw money into. First gen X-cab or 4runner w/ SAS  Eventually I'll actually have something worthwhile to post: pics of my 'new' Toyota project  :crossed:
