yep went to the big island during x-mass hated being in Kona and Hilo way to much of tourist traps, but didnt have any problems with the smaller towns.......I did go up Mauna Kea too fast and got altitude sickness lol.....and got the rental jeep stuck on the southern tip trying to find the green sand beach lol.....

Is there anyone on Kauai that would take CA couple to some local trails.  I am a factory toy mechanic and would be willing to help with your rig and pay for fuel.  I do specialize in older 4x4's.  We are here until 9-25-09.

You can come to maui and give our 78 Fj40 a nice service! and my truck too!   Ill take you wheeling... haha  theres a few guys over there on kauai ill try to look um up.  kauai and maui are the two best if you ask me
