Hi all!

I made the mistake of posting in the product forum about the L52 rebuild kit a week ago, sorry, I didn't see this check-in forum first or I would of said hi prior.

I live in Kansas- no trails where I live but plenty mud or snow packed dirt roads depending on the season. Last January I traded a coworker for his beat-up 83 1st gen. My plans were to repair it (needed a clutch kit) and use as a DD this winter, save on gas. Engine started every time and ran smooth. Unfortunately found later the L52 trans front counter shaft bearing had disintegrated.... So its on my work bench now awaiting parts (hopefully today!!).

My plans are to keep the stock lift (might have a 2" shackle lift on it now), get a set of 31" Maxxis Buckshot tires, fix trans, brakes, axle seals/bearings, bucket seats and flatbed later.....

Merry Christmas!!

cheers bro  :beerchug:

once I started reading about 1st gens on the inet, MARLIN's site was right at the top for parts and mods. I ended up buying a flywheel and a few smaller items here. Excellent service so I returned to plan future mods and read the builds other folks were in the process of on this forum. Lots of good info to glean from this forum.

Looks like you've been here a while? I'm gonna check out your 4-runner post in the future.

seeya!

70 for a high! wow!! Don't think we'll see that for a while... I could use a day like that now to remove my radiator, got a leak around the bottom hose connection and want to get it repaired/boiled and painted at local shop.

Looks like here it'll be in the teens during the day then drop below 0 at night....

I'll try to get a pic on here so you guys can see my wreck..uh.. I mean rig.....

Before I got it, my 1st gen was used by a tornado chaser around here for quite a few years and has had its share of hail encounters....

A little bit. We have gotten about 2 feet or snow in my area in the last week. I went and played a little but there isn't enough yet for it to be that exciting. Eureka and Mt. Shasta are beautiful areas I have a lot of family up in Eureka. Try and make it up there at least once a year. I am closer to Lake Tahoe.

two feet of snow and not exciting yet??  ???

Haven't had hardly any snow here yet except for an early November 4-6". The darn Chinese Elm's still had leaves on them, had snow and 70mph winds, tree lost a limb and fell on my power line and bowed that line where it was two feet off the ground! Got lucky and didn't lose power (bent the house riser a little) but shore had the hair standing up on my neck cutting that limb off the line.... :yikes:

I'll always remember Eureka for the dark sand beeches, almost black volcanic sand... Real cool.
