Picked up an 87 runner
« on: Nov 04, 2008, 03:43:17 PM »
Picked it up just over a week ago for 300 bucks. I bought it from a friend that bought it from another friend of mine like two years ago and it's sat ever since. He couldn't get it runnin (because we pulled the fuel pump relay when we were loading it on the trailer cuz of an injector leaking) so he just wanted it gone, he forgot about the relay. It had a water leak in the back of the head that aperently got fixed but was never really known because of the injector leak. I got the leaky injector fixed and few other small things here and there and it seems to be in good shape. Gotta get brake lights working and get all the black widows out of it too. :yikes:  Pretty good find since my wifes Chevy's tranny decided it didn't wanna play anymore!! Pics to come soon.

I come across deals like that all the time, but I ever have the $ for them.  I just talked to a guy that has a 79 toy 4x4 that is cherry and he only wants $500 for it.  And it runs!!  :maddest:  Of course I could buy it, but that would mean no house payment!  :rivers:

Here's a few pics of it.  Has a few dents in it here and there and the interior is pretty much complete. Picked up a stereo for it todayonly to find out it has no speakers!! ::)I like the red exterior but not really diggin everything inside being red. I forgot, it's gonna be my wifes daily driver, so I'll probly never get to drive it!!! :( She pretty stoked about it though. She just wont touch it til I get rid of the spiders, though I only saw one in it the rest were on the tires. I know, I'll never "get rid" of the spiders! :gap:

Yeah the red interior isnt the greatest, alot of cars and trucks back then had that color but who cares it looks solid. Still a good deal no matter what

Sweet deal Tice, looks like a good moderate wheeler. You gonna leave it stock or build it?

SCORE! I'd rock the red int.  but its easy enough to dye it whatever you want. I used SEM color coat on my interior that was the wonderful light brown and now its black.
