BAD OIL LEAK!!! Need answers asap!
« on: Sep 20, 2008, 09:36:01 PM »
Ok so i have a 22r and i just did a fuel pump replacement and in the process of doing it i took my valve cap off just enough in the front to where i could see where to place the fuel pump on to the end of the cam. well after i got everything back together...BAM!!! after i run the engine i leak like crazy and not just drops im talkin little puddles. ive kinda got the main area down of where it is...its leaking off the top of my tranny down the passenger side only and i know its not the rear seal or the valve cap because all those areas are clean. i need to get it fixed asap so any thoughts or probable answers would be great..thx guys.

if by valve cap you mean valve cover, it's probably the rear cam plug. It's a half-circle piece of rubber just like the one in the front. it probably fell out or shifted out of place. either find it or go buy a new valve cover gasket set.

if the only thing you pulled was the valve cover I don't see what else could cause it unless the gasket fell out of the rear of the cover.

there is nothing in that area. the OP sender is by the filter. the EGR cooler would leak water, not oil.

I fixed it today :) it was the gasket it needed reseting and a lil rtv did it good as well.
and i also did not know that the BRAKE! light staying on meant it needed more brake fluid. i thought that was pretty sweet!! man a yota really can not be beat...(knock on wood)!!

All vehicles do this. You may want to check for a leak or pad/shoe wear. Brakes do not use fluid.
Time to go wheelin!
