Getting a key?
« on: Feb 14, 2008, 10:00:39 PM »
I got a lock for the gas door, and it's got a number on the back.  4 digit.  Would this be the same as the # from the passenger door lock?  This is off a 89 bed.  My truck is a 87.  I'm thinking that it would be cheaper to have a key made than to get a keyless latch for the gas door.

I'm just thinking about this, I really hate the bed and want a flat bed.  So, if I don't spend any $ on this, it won't break my heart.  Just if I sell this bed, it might be a better selling point.  Later down the road.

probably... i would jsut try to get it rekeyed though to match the door locks... does it currently match your doorlocks? any locksmith can match locks easily... many here have even done it themselves

I didn't get a key for the gas door lock, because it was for a different truck/year.  I was just curious if that was the number to have a key made for.
