Another Howdy from Southeast Ky
« on: Jan 20, 2007, 07:04:30 AM »
I'm working on an 88 22RE Toy right now plating the rusted frame and have a solid front axle coming today.
Anybody have any "do it yourself" 4-link write up? I found a cherry 95 2wd frame, can it be used in mine? I know I'll have to redo the front section for a solid.

79coyotefrg / Dirt Toy Boy - Thanks for the links! Glad the install had pics :) I've read a lot on here today, actually to much reading and no working. I need to be in the shop taking the solid front out of the broke down 84 truck I got today. I may keep the solid and get that cherry 95 frame and build off that towards next winter. I need to get my 88 truck back on the road now that I have rear leafs.

When will the crawls be held around Jellico, Tn this year? I'm thinking about going since Jellico's only 20 minutes from me.

Hello to everyone else that's shouted out - I'll give ya a wave when I turn the smileys back on ;)

No never have. I did all my fishing here on Laurel Lake (smallies-large mouth-walleye) and on Lake Cumberland (smallies) and back in the 80's I went to TN a lot. Now my outboard is showing it's bad side so I only went out once last year.

I reckon I got added, who the 4377 can tell anything about that stupid map site. It was eaiser going through a divorce that that thing!

Anyway I got a little more done on my 88 last night but it's slow going with a back that wont hardly let ya stand up. I'm running 3/16" plating down the frame behind the cab. I stripped everything from the rails and I'm boxing it 360º. The whole time I'm working on it I'm thinking about chopping the frame and linking it ... draw back is the price of ends and DOM. But it keeps me out of trouble ;)

I lost the forum smileys on my first post ... can't find anyway to turn'em back on. Not seen a thing about how to upload pics either.

Gotta run, time for blood pressure pills ... thumpin gizzard pills!

Oh I can keep typin! But it wont get any work done in the shop!

What's the dope on square tube driveshafts? I've seen one in person and didn't care much for it. Can someone point me to some threads on the subject ? Pros and Cons. I've done alot of looking around and not ran up on anything yet but one question if somebody was going to use one.
