u want the pinion to be pointed directly at the transfer case taking into account the springs settling.
Is it not best to have the pinion pointing just slightly below the center line of the t/case output flange? That way under compression/axle wrap, it doesn't go too far beyond the centerline.
can the suspension compress that far that the pinion would be above the output flange?
Of course. I mean, it's all being stupidly technical, the truck will still perform all the same, but if you have the option to alter the angle, then we always recommend to point the pinion just slightly below the center line of the t/case output shaft.
