Ever see a burned up yota!?
« on: Jul 19, 2007, 04:55:43 PM »
I picked this up the other day. This is what happens when a few kids got the idea that they wanted to have a bon fire.

This was kind of my thinking on the whole thing, but do you realize how long it would take to sand off all the rust!? I think I may just keep the bed, doors, and I just looked over it again and one fender doesn't look bad. I had been thinking half doors also. The only thing I'm worried about is the sheet metal being warped.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just spray it with rust coverter   :gap:

I did have to pay some for it, but thats mainly because its about impossible to find a non-rusted bed in my area.

I'm not sure what ended up happening to them cause it was on a rez and i dont have permission to access rez records. I did hear a rumor that they recieved 10 hrs. of community service, but again that was only a rumor.

What are your plans?  I think you should have let it go!  Because the metal in the front half is gonna be totally useless and not safe!  Fire has a way of weakening metal!  Maybe the rear axle would be worth it!  But besides that, you may have wasted your $$

What metal exactly wouldn't be safe any more!? The only part of the frame that got burnt was about a foot of the very front and it just took the paint off. The rest of it still has paint on it. The fenders and doors dont't really have any safety features built into them at all. The bed only had paint burned off of it also.
