I broke it bad this time, BEARINGS
« on: May 21, 2007, 09:57:57 PM »
guys, I thought I was being smart, so I froze my pinion, and dropped my brearing on a hot burner.....got sidetracked, came back, drenched the bearing, sissled and hissed, and now has some blue on it.....so its garbage right???
ok, so if it is garbage, how do I get just a 32307 bearing with race if needed, prefer koyo, AZ carries timken, but would rather run KOYO, but if I dont hear back too soon, I will end up running a timken
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

I would not be afraid to run TIMKEN. They are good quality bearings. I would just go to an auto parts store and have them order the bearing or call Randy's Ring and Pinion.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

how do you pull of the pinion bearing without hurting it? I have one of the plits case bearing pullers, the bolt to the bearing and press on the end of the pinion but it didnt work, it mess up the old bearing, which didnt matter. anyways, best way to pull it off?

you have to put the bearing spreader  between the bearing and top of the  gear  then press it  from the  flange end  of the pinion

you gotta get the  spreader under the bearing  core, NOT  the cage

hey, my pattern is running into the ROOT of the gear? whats acceptable? http://www.gearinstalls.com/rick.htm    this is honestly what mine looks like I think

but my batteries are dead, they are on the charger, might have to go buy a big bulk pack

ok, so, I thought you didnt want it running into the root? is my pattern riding in the root ok? I used my spacer that was on the old pinion
