Retiring the '83 p-up and building an '88 4Runner. Mix and match. Swapping out the auto trans for a 5-speed. SAS. All the regular stuff. Will need some help matching everything up. Should be fun. I intend on running it as a family trail truck for a year or two and then going hardcore with it so I need to build it right from the start. Don't need the bling just functional and capable.
There is no good excuse not to follow the pick-up!

Those pics were from two different CRCA rockcrawling events at the wooden nickle ranch in Menifee CA. The first pics is from a day where it was pouring rain all day. I might have some more pics from that day somewhere in this computer. I'll try and dig some up later.

Here's the 4Runner I'm starting with.....Got it on e-bay for $900.
It had a blown motor and the wrong (auto) transmission but the interior is tits and it has all the cool sr5 ops and everything works. I built a new motor for it and I'm gonna slap a clutch pedal and 5-speed in it. SAS, full cage, blah blah bling bling........So you guys will no doubt be getting some dumb questions and crazy storys from me from time to time over the coarse of the build up.

I would be that Roy. It's a small world after all.

That's Funny! Well now you know how hard some of the miles on the odometer were.

You own a piece of history. I owned that truck for 15 yrs. It was like putting a really cool old dog to sleep. Exept you can't part out a dog!

Thanks for the feedback.

Truth be told, there is nothing but good luck in any part of that truck. It did a 21yr. transformation from show truck to daily driver to hardcore rockcrawler. It was running great when I took it apart. Did sledge and jack the weekend before I pulled the plug.

Good luck with the gauges. If it's in your truck send me a pic of it for the scrap book. That is a funny co-inkeydink.

p.s. Sorry about the gear oil in the cluster KYOTA. The top of those toyota transmissions aren't as leak proof as the bottoms. :headscratch:
