Locker Install
« on: Apr 24, 2007, 09:06:30 AM »
How hard would it be to take locker from 84 toy rear axle and install in my 79 front axle under my 86 4 runner?
Chics dig body damage.                                     Let's go wheeling.

Would be a direct bolt in, the toughest part will be the labor.

If the locker is already setup in a third member, then just swap the thirds; its a direct plug-and-play fit. I think the flange bolt pattern will match also

can't belive no one asked this of you yet, are they both the same gear ratio?

if so just swap. if not you'll have to swap R/P's.
