« on: Mar 07, 2007, 12:26:18 AM »
Well i finally got to drive my rig the other day and tested the 4wd. when i tried to shift from 4low to 4 high it wouldn't go. it came out of low just fine but wouldn't go into high. i tried everything i could think of but it finally came down to just forcing it in. and when i did it popped and grinded. any sudjestions?

not sure on this, but i think if there is a dual crawler and its new that there was an issue about the shift fork needing to be cut down or something like that

It also helps if you rock your steering  :driving: slightly side to side at a very slow roll to unload the drive lines enough for a smoother shift. If you have to you can also unlock the hubs. Ever notice how it works so perfectly when the hubs aren't locked? keep in mind if you lock the hubs and don't move the truck the drivelines won't bind up so shifting will still be easy. It must be driven with the hubs locked before it will be difficult to shift.  It's kinda like pulling an auto trans outa 'Park' on a hill without the park brake set. Try that ans see how it works. It works for me.
