91 Trans in 85... ??

Is there a physical difference in length between a stock tranny from a 91 verses an 85? My transmission in my 85 runner is howling, and I have an opportunity to buy a good 91-95 transmission for cheap...

Length should be the same,only difference would be the t-case.Your runner is top shift while the other would be forward shift.

You can block off the foward shift hole and just bolt your topshift case to the tranny.
