Help with soft clutch pedal
« on: Jan 09, 2007, 07:55:49 PM »
I have searched and searched but couldn't find anything like this. I replaced my clutch in WA state drove for a week then parked the truck for 3 weeks. Started up truck clutch worked great started trip to AR. no problems but then I got MO and the the fork came loose from the bearing and I had to power shift for 120 miles I replaced the slave cylinder and the master cylinder bled and bled about 2 quarts of fluid through the system. Now it shifts but the pedal goes to the floor and is soft. any ideas?? :rivers:

usually the mc itself or the slave have adjusters on them....

No adjuster on the slave I forgot to say this is a 82 with a 4 speed also I have also had to make a push rod from the slave to the fork. I had to use it with this slave too. Could this be the fork causing this?

This was stiff until the fork came loose. Now you can't tell that there is any thing happening. While trying to bleed it it would push the piston out of the slave and the fork off of the bearing with out building up pressure. :dunno:

:wall: Well I went and tore out the rear drive line so before I put it back I'm going to check it out better. The fork seems to be at a strange angle but still attached to the clips on the T/O bearing I'm thinking that it might be the T/O bearing is too long. I'll try to get some pic's the flash stopped working.

 The only time I will have is on the weekends, I moved the adjuster all the way out on the master and it helped a little. I won't really know until I put the drive line back in. I was lucky that I dropped the drive line close to home. I had the rear tires spinning good and the I ooopsed and hit pavement at about 7000 rpms. :smack: I don't know where my head was.
