hey i would just like to know what the difference is between a top shifting transfer case and a foward shifting transfer case is.....and what is better

They are the same case basically.  The top shifter is just that, the shifter is ontop of the lowrange portion.  On the forward shift the shifter is in the tailshaft of the tranny.
