I told her the truth.  There's no reason to lie.  She understood that if a flashlight's batteries died when you weren't looking (especially if its tucked inside a body cavity - i.e. the tailgate) then it's pretty easy to forget about.  Luckily this customer was cool about it.  I love the customer's at Toyota.  Most of the ones I dealt with at Lexus were real A-holes.

list of things i have found in tires(punctured through and left in by accident):
multiple kinds of screwdrivers in multiple shapes and lengths.
spark plug.
tons of wrenches.
jack ripper throwing knife.
fork.
battery
razor blades.
a few allenwrenches.
pocket change
sunflower seeds.(which by the way make strange clicking noises while driving)
tire balancer weights.
every kind of nail,bolt,nut,screw you can probably think of
83 yota that wheels
04 wrx wagon that hauls butt
assorted crap that mostly doesnt do anything
