fzj 100 brakes on a mini truck axle??? :headscratch: i'm interested

Same here keep us posted on this my truck is in need of new front brakes, might as well upgrade instead.
Rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

if you have heard of precision brakes, then you may know what im doing, i am currently running 85 mini brakes, but am working on a conversion that will allow the use of modern fzj100 brakes on mini hubs using landcruiser calipers, i am working with precision brakes on this and it may be offered as a kit in the future, rotor will be in the area of 13.5 or 14 inches, so use of large wheels, 17or18 would be necessary

What all with the conversion kit consist of and what is the ETA of the kit, I would be very interested, I already have the bigger IFS calipers and landcruiser vented rotors but still would like a little more stopping power especially if I get a more powerful engine.  :eyebrow:

Keep us posted

the conversion kit would consist of a bracket for a much larger caliper, a hubcentric plate to hold the larger rotor, s.s. brake lines, and an aggressive pad setup- ill keep yall posted

OK, back from the dead.  I say in one of your other post that you have a hybrid axle with 97 fj brakes.....i've searched for about a half hour and have not found anything. I need some info....did you get it to work??

replace factory rotor with spacer of same thickness, use fj 80, tacoma, or tundra slide on rotors, larger and vented, use tundra aluminum calipers, must use 3/8th or so spacer on calipers to space away from knuckle, havnt tested real world functionality yet, still trying to get it back together, the hub center on the rotor must be milled larger and the hub center ion the axle must be milled smaller, still trying to get that all set up.

looks like it would be easier to set up a v6 caliper set up :hammer:

no pics yet9, my camera....had an accident...ya thats it...shhh

as far as the brakes, they have a 20-25% larger fluid capacity, and are theoretically 30% more efficiant, or powerful, time will tell

so the fj rotors set inbetween the wheel hub and rim? do the calipers line up with the mounting tabs?
