Your 4Runner looks awesome.  I can't tell from the picture....did you do anything with your hardtop to dress it up?

yes i did, all runner come with a texture on the tops, like a rhino liner kinda, i sanded it all smooth, re coated it with fiberglass, sanded it smooth again, and painted it, it gives it a glass like finish, looks like sheetmetal :yesnod: i like it

here is my new springs, a 9 leaf pack using 3 toy rears, and 6 jeep wagoneer leafs, i wasnt happy with the ford bronco leafs, not enough lift, i was riding 2 inches off the bumpstops, these lifgted the truck 4.5 inches taller than it was, so about 9 inches total in front

It does look good.  I havn't seen that done before.  I am about to paint my Runner and the faded black top would look a lot better with a little attention.  Thanks for the info.

 well worth the extra effort, use 320 grit paper, no heavier, if you use heavier it will show in the paint, i used an orbital sanded and 320 :yesnod:

Hey Dan! The truck looks great and the leaf packs are working awsome!

I was just wondering what Waggy leaves you used, I may go and get some too. My pack is running the same height as you were running before, 2" from the stops, which sucks because it bottoms out sometimes on the bump stops.
Also I have to get the back of my truck up a few inches, do you think I should add leaves to the pack or put a block? I only have a 1" block right now. :headscratch:

Let me know :beerchug:

im using 1983 grand waggy springs, out of a v8 truck, and two toy rear leaves at the top.i have 6 inches before bunpstops now, as for the raer, the less block you use th better, but try an add a leaf, that ,ay do it, if you only want an inch more, then put in a 2 inch block, i have some bythe way

Thanks Dan, the Waggy springs are from the fron pack right?
Is it good to use an add-a-leaf? :headscratch: If it is then I will throw one in there and it should give me another half an inch or so. Also, can I see your shackle set-up, I think I have something similar on mine. :beerchug:

yes they are from a front pack, seven leaf pack, not the four leaf, and as for the add a leaf, you could do that to gain a little height, but remember, those leaves where designed for only one thing, to carry weight, not be flexible, you will most likley be happier with adding two or three thinner leaves that will flex rather than one thick one that will not :turtle:

Thanks for the info Dan, I thought that an add-a-leaf would limit flex, thats why I have non. I will probobly add some thing ones... that will look much better.
As for the front leaves, how thick are they... maybe I can get some leaves off of something that is comparable because Waggy's aren't that common around here.

i have a few layin around if you want em, but if not, find a FRONT spring that is thin, less than 1/4 inch, rear springs wont hold up well, you need a spring designed to carry the weight of a motor

If I lived in Cali then I would take you up on the offer, but since I am a million miles away thats no good, I will look at the local Jeep junk yard, they had a lifted waggy there and a stock one I think.
