Don't the rears move the axle forward just 2 inches? How did you get the other 2 inches?

He moved the front hanger forward 2 inches also.

What rear springs are you running? Those toyo MT's look awesome with the 17's. How do you like them. I forgot to ask you before, is the price you said for the tires and wheels or just the tires? I like those alot. Sweet job man

they are 64 inch chevy/ford bronco hybrids-and thats what i paid for the set with rims, i like em alot-and thanks, been a lot of work but got a great payoff in  the end

Did you order the wrong u-bolts for the front axle?  Looks like you have the square ones.  The runner looks really nice by the way.  good job.

Why did you paint Marlin's zinc plated shackles?

i HAD an 85 housing, so the squares would have worked, but last minute found out that it was severly bent, so i got an 82or83 housing, they will work fine for now

i didnt, my drunk ass freind was painting the hangers and got paint on the shacles, so i finished the jobm i would have rather had them gold like they where, but its all good

Hyena

If you send the bolts back to marlin they will send the round kind back to you for free, you just have to pay for the shipping there.  I had to do that too.  They took them back even though i had them on the truck for a few months.  It's an idea, i felt safer with the round kind.

im sure they would, but there is already paint on em...and...i dont really care, cause chances are in a few weeks i will be adding some trusses to the housing and then they will fit

Are those front springs using the broncoII main leaf? cause they look really long.  Is that why you mounted the shackle under the frame?  Looks good, how does it drive?

no, the top three leaves are toyota rears, and the bottom three are rancho 4 inch rear springs for a 66 ford bronco, it flexes like stoopid and rides kinda like a 8 foot tall caddilac, reall soft and smooth, i like it, it rides better and handles better than it did whan it was ifs!! :yesnod:  :o  :eyebrow: and i put the shacle under the frame for a few reasons, to allow me to carry one set of spares for the front and rear, so that the body mounts do not restrict shackle movement, so that i can use the geametry angles that i prefer that the frame will not allow, and because under the frame, the springs sit level, giving me an outstanding pinion angle without rotaing the housing or adding shims :driving:

why did you decide to do your shackles up like that instead of drilling through the frame? are you afraid of ripping those spring hangers off or do you think it will hold fine?
just wondering because all my friends that have done sas's went through the frame with their hangers.

Looks good Dan! I did fender tubes like you have in mind and tied them into the shock hoops to give the hoops more support

thats a great idea, but my hoops go into my engine bay, so i couldnt do that, but it would be stronger huh?

KYOTA

there are other ways to gusset the hoops it was just a suggestion if you had the room. I did it cause it was too easy to go from the fender tube over to the hoop. Dig those new style black steelies too, those would look tight with a DIY beadlock
