Differential Interchange
« on: Feb 04, 2006, 07:21:46 AM »
Got tired of spending days looking for a parts interchange, so I am going to ask.

Will a V6 diff out of a 2000 runner work in my 1988 rear axle?
I know up to '95 will but could not find out about the '95.5 and newer.
Beat to fit, Paint to match
Need a bigger hammer and more paint.

Did 75 Toyota (Downey 4X4 conversion Kit)
Doing 88 Toyota 4X4 (Desert race truck)
Next 81 Toyota 4x4 (drive train upgrade)

look at the axle code, if it says G294 then yes,  but then again  that code was changed in the newer trucks,  measure the diameter  of the mounting surface  if the are the same, go for it

im thinking they will since i have a 05 elocker in my 79

The diff is out of the truck and not close at hand. Found it on an auction sight.

if its a 8" third  it will fit,   if its the 8.4  it wont, i think the 8.4 was in some tacoma's and runners but yes if its a 8 inch it will bolt right up
