l50 shifts when its cold...not when its hot....???
« on: Feb 04, 2006, 12:47:12 AM »
82 toyota w what i believe is the l50 5 speed.  PROBLEM: when truck warms up the tranny doesnt like to go into 1st gear, sometimes when i go through the gears before trying to go into 1st it helps and on other times it doesnt, the truck shifts fine into 1st when its cold...it doesnt like to shift into reverse no matter what...changed the oil and found some slivers of metal...does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong? and if so what needs to be done to fix it? thanks

Go back to the top of the page and click the little yellow circle with the tutle in it.  Marlin's prices are either in line or sometimes cheaper than a local tranny shop rebuild.  I've talked to some people who've had em rebuilt and they have all been charged more than Marlin's prices, and they didn't get the expertise and knowledge with theirs that he will put into yours.
RIP KYOTA
