cylinders 1&3 not firing
« on: Jan 09, 2010, 07:27:50 PM »
alright i know ive seen some info on this before but cant seem to find it. i have an 88 22re w/ harness that i swapped into an 87 it was runnin great yesterday, then today i started it up and it didnt runn well at all so as it was running i started pulling spark plugs off to see if it would make  a difference. When i pulled off cylinders 2 and 4 the truck died but when i pulled off cylinders 1 and 3 it didnt make a difference at all. They seem to be getting spark so im guessing it is fuel. My question is what would cause those two cylinders to not get fuel?

why dont you pull the spark plug wire and check those for spark.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

No he said he unhooked the wire, i mean pull the wire off put a screw driver in there and visually see if it has a spark.

Check the wiring harness on the pass. side of ur eng. compartment. There are 4 white wires with a red tracer, they join together and fire cyl. 1/3 and 2/4. The connection/ solder gets corroded. Had the same prob
