« on: May 14, 2005, 02:32:47 PM »
:dunno: my 81 20 r carb runs great but when you stop at a stop sign or on the trail is does not want to idle   unless u put it in neutral and rev it up a lot. me and my dad think that there is a vacuum line that is in the wrong place.
any help would be great and a digram of all the vacuum lines and where they go  :help:  :help:

fuel cut solenoid,         pass side of carb there is a small solenoid about the size of a pinkyfinger, with a wire comeing out of it,  just hook it to something that comes on when the key is on,

yes, without the idle solenoid hooked up it will NOT idle.  i've got mine with homeade wiring(22R swap into an original 20R truck) and i knocked my quick connects apart when adjusting my valves.  i thought i really screwed something up when i started it up, until i remembered to check my wire :nonono:

we hooked the solenoid up a while ago and it did good until u put a full tank of gas in and then it started to blow black smoke and kick and snort so i took a vacuume line from the gas tank the gos into a big canaster and hooked it to the air filter end i dont know if that is were it goes

sounds like its trying to suck fuel thru the evap canister,  you did right by removing the vacuum line, should have fixed it :dunno:
