tire fitment
« on: May 08, 2021, 03:27:49 PM »
I'm sure its been asked before...  I'm on stocks rims and 260/70/r16. 2012 Tacoma

Now lifted 2" in front and 1" in rear.  I ordered 16x8 w/4.5 backspacing.  I'd like to step up a size.  Is it possible w/o rubbing?

When I did the same lift on my 2000 all I needed was to pound the pinch weld flat.  Any thoughts?

Maybe my search terms aren't accurate

I have a 2013 Tacoma with 255/85r16 Toyo MT with the equivalent bs as you and they barely rubbed the front mud flaps.

You did no trimming? I'm planning to put 16" rockstar wheels with 285/75's, and my friends told me that I might need to do some plastic trimming, remove the mudflaps and do a CMC.

I pounded the pinch weld on the 2000.  Never did the chop.  Can't weld well enough yet.

Got my wheels.  They arrived quickly, way faster than my sliders.  I guess because they are not built to order.

Now  i have  to order tires.  Probably BFG A/Ts.  I have 265/70/R16 now on my stocks.  Think I'll go up a size since have a lift now.  Toyota wants 280 per tire free shipping mounting and balancing.

200 ea. from 4wheel parts but I have to pay shipping and mounting and balancing.

Slowly slowly...

I did not have to trim anything.
The 285's are wider so you may need to.

My mudflaps are already gone on the 2012.

I fit 32x11.5 r15 on my 2000.  Alcoa knock off style rims(don't remember the backspacing...15x8)  I just pounded the pinch weld flat.  With ICONs at 2" lift.  Still had mud flaps.
