question on 7.5 clamshell
« on: Dec 22, 2016, 10:51:32 PM »
Trying to help a co worker. We searched online but didn't have the answer to what he's looking for...

He bought a 7.5 front diff for his 99 tacoma. The owner states it's regear to 5.29 already but he wants to make sure it's 5.29 before installing it. Can he open the shell to verify teeth and reinstall without damage? Or should I say, can he just open it and verify and bolt it back up? Do he need to adjust anything or is it not possible to do that?

Thanks for helping
