Ring and Pinion question
« on: Apr 06, 2005, 01:49:05 PM »
This is an idiot newb question but Im trying to figure out what ratio my gears are; Ring gear is stamped
37 7 DSD-G 4 14 96 8620 then etched is 137..E. The 4 14 96 I think is the production date. Pinion is etched 2.445 137..E Ring gear has 37 teeth and pinion has 7 teeth if that helps. The axles are from an 85 truck, the guy was running 35s but didnt know what ratio they are

I think it is the # of rign gear teeth divided by the # of pinion teth that gives you the ratio but I am not 100% positve.
