i circled the mounting.  i welded 1" steel to the front crossmember and drilled and taped it 1/2-13.  then i welded 1/4x2 to the top of the bumper that has holes for the existing mounts on the top of the frame near the radiator.  and then i welded diamond plate to the bottom and at the bottom i welded some angle so that i could bolt it to the bottom of the front cross member.(i used 4  3/8 bolts)  
i haven't mounted my winch to it yet but i have been pulled off of rocks by it and i've load tested it other ways.(pulling stumps and such)  i'm comfortable with the strength.  i'll know for sure when i put my 8,000 warn on it.
