I would research your engine swap... going from 6 to 4 cyl has a lot of wiring issues that are not fun.. might save you a ton of work to just stick with the 3.0 especially if you are doing the head gaskets like you already mentioned.. plus I don't think you will gain much with a 22rte.. (my opinion)
