The factory spec is all fine and dandy but I have learned to do it a little diff with great success.  I tighten the 1st 54mm nut very hard then back it off a 1/4 turn.  If they are new bearings then this is even more important since the bearing will settle and loosen up.  Just drive it a little then recheck the load.
