you've already answered your ?.    ;)

Either one needs gears and lockers so that is not an issue, you're gonna pay one way or another....

and you already have the Toy axle... Use it!

I believe I heard of one busted longfield (on POR) but I know very little about that.  I am running one of the early ones since January with a Detroit and of course, not broken it but I'm pretty easy on them compared to others.  (Actually, I have a newfield on the long side and longfield on the short side to see which one go first.)

So.... stick with your Toyota axle, run the longfields and don't look back.   ;)
