I also made my own for my '91.  It is a complete boonie fab, but it does the job.  It isn't a permanent fixture, tend not to come across that many water x-ings here in CA, and takes less than 10 minutes to install, and cost me less than $15.  I went w/2" pvc(2.5"o/d), installed a water tight junction at the air box behind the headlight, and ran a "L" tube from the air box up above the hood.  You have to remove the headlight, and is why it takes about 10 minutes to install.  I went this route from having to ave the engine breath through a long straw 99% of the time it was running.  I will install it and post a pic later in the week.
