the reason they hit the body mounts was beacuse i had no shock on when i flexed it out the first time.
The flex of the springs is going to be the same with or without shocks, unless the shock is limiting the travel. When you said it hit the mounts because there was no shock, I assumed you expected the shock to prevent this.
The reason they hit the body mount isn't because of no shock, it's because of the increased length of the spring in relation to the location of the spring hanger.
